My name is Harriet and welcome to Secondhand Stan. I am a 25 year old freelance creative residing in London. I am a 2017 graduate from University of Arts London with a degree in Set Design for Screen. I have experience assisting on still life photoshoots for the likes of Net-A-Porter, Soho House and Men's Health Magazine as well as working on press events for brands such as UGG. I have also designed and created my own sets that have gone on to be featured in publications such as HUF Magazine and Vogue Italia Online.
As well as my experience working on editorials and events, I have worked in retail for both a small independent shop as well as working for a major British retailer as part of their creative team. This strong contrast in environments made me very aware of the effects of fast fashion and a need for people to choose well and buy less. We need to encourage the rise of 'slow fashion' and choose to shop secondhand wherever possible.
I have always bought secondhand clothing since I was a little girl and decided to put this love to good use. I am now putting my passion and creativity into this blog! I want to share my experience with others and hopefully encourage people that you can be both fashionable and sustainable!
